Fell asleep on the couch, apparently I wasn't alone
Someone climbed out of their bed and sat on the end of the couch last night, couldn't help but snap a picture.
Classic Fun with Friends Last Weekend
mmmmm....smores..... |
Nolee was a little upset she got marshmallow on her shirt...can you tell? |
Another smore made her not so mad about her shirt being a mess :) |
Loved juice boxes! |
LOVED! |
Not so much in love here |
Nolee was NOT loving grass on her feet, she tiptoed around the yard the entire day! |
This playground wasn't super tall so Nolee had a great time climbing and sliding |
Sliding! |
Climbing....Lilly loved the rockwall, Nolee wasn't a fan... |
Surprising good driver, except for backing into the fence! Her sister did much better driving but also has more experience apparently. |

Can I drive?
This morning, my 4 year old offered to drive us to school...
Ok, I know my daughters are growing up faster than I like, but when your 4 year old offers to drive?
"Ok, honey we need to slow down just a bit, the state of Michigan says you have to wait 12 more years. Nice try though."
Also, because of an older book I picked up from a teacher that retired, which speaks to the bad things alcohol and drugs do to your brain, I get a lecture everytime we get in the car. EVERYTIME!
"Daddy, did you know that beer can make you fall down and say funny things and you shouldn't drive when you had beers."
"Yes, I did know that."
"If you ever have too many beers, you shouldn't drive, it could hurt someone else."
"Yes honey, that is so true."
"If you ever had to many beers I could drive us, if we have to only go a little ways, like from Uncle Grant's house...."
(I cut her off) "Not a chance honey...not a chance....nice try though."

Fun outside
Despite the weather being a bit cold, we managed to take a snowmobile ride around the farm a couple times. Nolee was a bit apprehensive....ok..."spider monkey apprehensive", but I threw her on in front of the snowmobile and away we went. To make a long story short, we ended up driving around until I couldn't handle the cold in just my jeans. The once apprehensive 2 year old could not get enough!
Papa unloaded the snowmobiles...
You can see the excitement in one, the anxiety in another...
Can you tell which one was excited?
or which one was nervous...?
I couldn't take a photo of Nolee and I on the snowmobile, but this is during one of the warm up breaks daddy had to take before we went out some more!

I Need a Hug!
All I wanted today was a hug from my 4 year old Lilly after work. I had been looking forward to it since lunchtime. After spending most of the last 10 days with the girls, I went through withdrawals of not having them around to grab and hug, or be hugged. Sweet relief came about 20 minutes ago when I got my hug. Now I just need one from my 2 year old and that will make my day.
10 Days of not hitting the button...
No, I spelled it right, I didn't bottle. I turned off my alarm clock for 10 days! I honestly can't remember when I have ever done that! Although, I was fortunate to have my back up alarm clocks go off every morning somewhere between 5:45 and 7:30 am every morning. Honestly though, when the alarm clocks want to jump into bed and go back to sleep, or just snuggle, it's not so bad. I know to cherish it since it won't last, I know for a fact it has been a good 25 years since I climbed in bed with my parents. How time flies!
